I will design a plan to help your learner further their reading and writing knowledge and skills. When working with reading and writing I incorporate a multisensory approach and do my best to keep learning fun. We may sing songs, play with playdough or sand/salt trays, play games, partake in a craft activity, or a number of other activities. It is important that parents communicate with me so that I can tailor the reading and writing lessons to their learners. Please message me upon enrollment to let me know what your learner is working on in their reading and writing journey and where their struggles are so that we can form a plan together. Please also let me know your learner's learning style (audio, visual, or kinesthetic-movement). If your learner needs help right now and you enroll last minute, that is okay too. The following is a list of skills we could work on but this is not an exhaustive list. -letters/sounds -sight words -early writing conventions (capitalization, punctuation, word spacing, etc.) -early sentence writing -beginning reading -phonemic awareness -phonics -handwriting and letter formation

I am a licensed K-8 teacher with 17+ years of experience teaching ages 2-16 in a variety of capacities. My classroom experience has mainly been in Kindergarten and Preschool but I have also taught two-year-old preschool, first grade, second grade, and fourth grade. My most important role is as a homeschool mom to three wonderfully curious children. We are a neurodiverse family and I believe in creating opportunities for all children to learn and grow. My teaching experiences include a variety of settings: Montessori, public schools, private schools, and international schools both in-person and virtual. I have been teaching English as a Second Language online for the last 5 years. I have taught in the US states of Colorado, Wisconsin, and New Mexico as well as the countries of Kuwait and Fiji. I love teaching young children using hands-on and multisensory approaches, including games and songs where I can. Learning should be fun and I always do my best to help children enjoy their journey.
I hold a Master of Education degree from Regis University in Colorado. My Bachelor of Music degree comes from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with an emphasis in Flute Performance. While in Kuwait I studied through the Educational Collaborative for International Schools and Cambridge University to obtain my International Teacher Certificate. I believe education is a lifelong journey and am always working to further my knowledge and skills through self-study, workshops, and courses.
I am passionate about traveling and learning about different cultures. I live with my husband and three children in the USA. Together we enjoy hiking, traveling, swimming, playing games, and learning together.
