Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 7
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Level 6 of this ESL Curriculum has been created for teenagers and young learners who have either completed Levels 1 through 5 or are at an A2 level of English. Level 6 will then continue to build on what they have already been taught whilst also introducing more vocabulary and encouraging more independent sentence creation based on the following topics:

Intensifiers using very, really, extremely etc.

Using ‘I’d like’ to give an order or request

Expressing the modals ‘could/couldn’t’

Speaking about life experiences in the past perfect tense

Speaking about continued actions in the present perfect tense

Prepositional phrases of movement such as ‘to’, ‘across’, ‘along’ etc.

Prepositions of time such as ‘in’, ‘at’, ‘on’

Differentiating between adverbs of place, manner, time, frequency and purpose

Using ‘wh-’ questions in the past tense

Learning how to speak about possible situations using the zero conditional

Lesson 6 consolidates the material covered in Lessons 1- 5, while Lesson 12 covers the material learnt in Lessons 7 - 11.

Before the controlled practice exercises like gap fills, matching activities, and even error correction, each lesson begins with a presentation of the core grammar structures in the form of a dialogue. In addition, there are a number of opportunities for students to gain invaluable speaking practice through games, randomiser activities and structured dialogues, giving them the confidence to put what they have learned in class into practice. Vocabulary refresher activities in the review lessons will help students review what they have learned in each block of lessons.

Parental Guidance
All students will be muted when needed, to minimize background noise. Please ensure to spend some time with your learner, teaching them the mute and unmute features as I am unable to unmute them. Or I ask that you sit with your learner in order to provide that support. I want to make sure every learner gets a chance to speak and ask questions when it is their turn.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
