Learn to speak English with me! This is the 15 minute version of my conversation class - please see my other class listings for other tutoring options, including a 25 minute class and a 45 minute class. - 1:1 student-to-teacher ratio; the student has the teacher’s full attention - Get to know each other using questions and answers in English - Talk about topics of interest - Share about different cultures - Sometimes play games or do activities of interest during the conversation session - Teacher can read stories to the student to support listening skills - Help with pronunciation - Help with oral language homework or preparation for conversation exams - Build confidence - Take the class as many times as they like! Basic knowledge of the English language is necessary so that the students can participate in discussions with me. However, if your learner is currently unable to carry a short conversation in English, I'm happy to read, tell stories or practise new vocabulary or phrases with them. How many times can we meet? As many times as you like! This '15 Minute Fluency' is a short lesson designed to be booked regularly across the week to accelerate progress, build fluency and develop confidence in using English more readily. I suggest 3-5 times a week, as the science of learning tells us that it's important for regular review and engagement in what we're learning so that we can improve. You could even book more than 5 times a week to even further accelerate and upskill your learner's English! Please check my availability and let me know if there is a time of day close to my hours that will suit - I can sometimes be flexible with session times. Why choose this class? This is a fun, engaging conversation-based session for ESL/EFL students who want to improve their English skills. Before our class, I prepare materials that are individual to the student's needs. I can use slideshows, games and books to support our conversation lessons, or we can just have a free conversation about everyday topics. I create an encouraging, safe learning environment so that the students feel comfortable using their English skills with me. It is helpful to learn with someone outside of their usual schooling, to build confidence to participate in everyday English classes. When booking a time, please let me know what your student would like to focus on in our sessions. I look forward to meeting you! Miss T 👩🏻🏫

I have worked in Japan teaching English in high schools for two years. During this time, I was a leader of an English Conversation Club, and I also supported a member of the club to deliver a speech at the All Japan Speech Competition. She placed 5th, and was the only non-bilingual student who placed.
I have also taught children aged 5-13-years-old in multicultural classrooms for 7+ years. Many of my students are ESL learners who I love to teach!
I also love teaching art, mathematics, science, wellbeing, and literature.
