Class Experience
This class is designed for fans of drawing, painting, cartooning, comics, manga, and anime who want to improve their skills. I'm an award-winning comic artist and freelance illustrator with tons of experience and guidance to offer young artists. These tutoring classes are flexible and can be tailored to meet the needs of the student. I can provide a variety of drawing exercises which will help me assess the student's strengths and areas for improvement, and then I can offer specific instructions, demonstrations, feedback, and encouragement to help them level up their skills. I can teach anime/manga art tips, character design, fundamentals of design and composition, line work, shading and highlights, 3D shapes, perspective, coloring, penciling and inking techniques, digital art instruction, storytelling and comic layout, and a lot more.

With a B.F.A. in Graphic Design with an emphasis in Illustration from CSU Fresno, I am an experienced, award winning comic artist with several self-published titles. I have been professionally teaching comics and anime themed classes to artists of all ages since 2013, from 1-on-1 elementary sessions to college-level classrooms. I’m very passionate about everyone experiencing the confident joy of putting your ideas onto paper, and feeling your world come to life. I believe there is no such thing as a “bad” art style, and that anyone can draw given the chance.
