1:1 Calm Your Mind, Calm Your Body

In this 1:1 session, I will discuss how to perform breathing, tapping, meditation, journaling, dancing, and simple 30 second yoga poses to calm the body and mind with simple exercises that can be repeated as often as your child wants.

Mastery Evaluation
1 hour per week. The homework following the 1:1 session will be a recommendation to begin journaling a minimum of three times per week and adopt one exercise into daily use.
Certificate of Completion
The learner will complete the course with knowledge of how the techniques are beneficial for a calmer mind and body, as well as a demonstrated understanding of how to perform the exercises.

Class Experience

US Grade 5 - 9
Beginner - Advanced Level
In this class the student will learn and demonstrate exercises aimed to calm the body and mind through meditation, breathwork, tapping, journaling, dancing and yoga. Each technique has a review of its benefits and an active participation portion for the learner. The class begins with an overview of the benefits to calming the mind and body with these exercises, followed by a brief overview and active session for the learner to complete each exercises and concludes with a brief quiz (pass/fail) to assess the learner's comprehension of the material.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Sources
We will utilize kids videos only from YouTube for breathwork, tapping, yoga, journaling, meditation music, and dance. I will provide these videos through the sharing screen method so children do no need to access youtube.

I have been a nurse for over 20 years and board certified in functional medicine and integrative health so I have always been teaching patients about health and wellness. While in the hospital, I provided educational content monthly for staff through presentations and active learner participation methods. I have two boys and have instructed various sports teams, volunteered at school and provided short demonstrations for children.
