Class Experience
In this one on one acting class, students will have the opportunity to better prepare themselves for an upcoming audition. Each class will focus on the student's specific needs. The student will bring in any type of monologue or scene* that they are working on (from classical to contemporary) and we will work together to fine tune their technique and help to solidify character. This class is taught in English.
Students will learn ways to memorize, how to breakdown a monologue/scene, analyze character wants/needs, establish character background/physicality/vocalization, understand character relationship, to build confidence, and general audition tips.
Professional actor and teacher in Toronto, Canada for 15 years. A long-standing member of the ACTRA and EQUITY unions. Years of experience on set, in the audition room, and recording self-tapes. Have taught one on one acting sessions and Music Theatre classes to children ages 4 - 18 in the Toronto area for 8 years.
Familiarity with monologue/scene(s) before the start of class.
A copy of the monologue or scene(s) that you would like to work on. If working on a scene, please send me a copy before the start of class.
A written report will be given to the student after completing the class reminding them of the skills and techniques discussed and how to move forward with their audition prep.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
