This class will cover the types of anxiety and the ways each person experiences feelings differently. We will learn coping mechanisms, practice useful communication skills, and students will have the chance to vent and dump whatever is on their mind. Examining the underlying beliefs that fuel the anxiety can be extremely helpful so that we can reconfigure the beliefs and manage the anxiety. - Students will learn ways to cope with anxiety, fear, anger, and will improve communication skills.
I am 8 months away from having my degree in child psychology and development, specializing in social anxiety and mental health. I've already completed all the counseling technique classes and just wrapping up electives at this point. The goal of this class is not to treat or diagnose students but to educate them on what anxiety is and how it can be managed.
