Class Experience

Many of the challenges neurodiverse students face, such as those with ADHD, are due to underdeveloped executive function skills as well as a lack of strategies and tools that enable them to work with their unique neurobiology, rather than against it.

ADHD and executive function coaching aims to help neurodiverse students identify their strengths and preferred learning style as well as develop personalized strategies, tools, and techniques to meet their individual needs and goals. As a result, coaching can help improve focus, task completion, time-management, study skills, organization, self-regulation, and social skills.

During our time together, I will partner with the student to create an individualized plan/strategy to address identified challenge areas and skill development. Following our session, I will provide an overview of what we covered and what the student will be practicing between sessions. Parents and students are welcome to send me questions between sessions if additional assistance is needed, but if a particular issue requires more than a quick written response, I will suggest scheduling a one-on-one session.

As an ADHD coach, my passion is working with students of all ages to develop a greater sense of self-acceptance, confidence, and autonomy. I approach every student interaction with openess, curiosity, patience, humor, and acceptance. My goal is to partner with my students to help them develop the tools and self-advocacy skills they need to feel successful and confident.

If you are interested in coaching, please schedule an Intro to 1:1 ADHD and Executive Function Coaching session with me first so that you may determine whether coaching is the right fit for your family. These one-time sessions are 30 minutes and cost $1.

Please note, coaching is NOT mental health therapy. The coaching process is strictly intended to teach life skills and strategies and does not support or provide a therapeutic outcome. As such, it should not be regarded as a substitute for mental health and/or other therapeutic services.

Other Details

Learning Needs
These one-on-one sessions are ideal for all neurodiverse students who would like to improve their executive function skills.
Parental Guidance
Please note, that parental involvement and support is often required and critical to a student's success. This is especially true for students under the age of 12. My time with the student is limited and the majority of learning occurs in the home and in the community where the student will practice these new skills and strategies. As such, parents and caregivers must be involved in the coaching process to at least some degree so that they may learn and understand how to support their child between sessions.
Pre-Requisites
Students and families must have attended an Intro to 1:1 ADHD and Executive Function Coaching session with me prior to requesting one-on-one sessions.
