Class Experience

During our writing tutoring sessions, we will work starting at the writing stage the student is currently at:
-PreWriting (Understanding the Prompt, Brainstorming, Research, Thesis Statement, Outlining, Assignment/Rubric)
-Drafting (Initial Drafting, 2nd Drafting Addressing issues in Revising/Proofreading/Editing, 3rd Drafting Addressing issues in Revising/Proofreading/Editing)
-Revising/Proofreading/Editing (Grammar & Mechanics, Organization, Proper citation of sources, Cohesion, Clear & Concise, Conforms to Assignment/Rubric)
-Final Draft (Final Proofreading and Assignment/Rubric Check)

Writing is a process. During every session, students will learn how to methodically work through the stages with the intention of taking control of the process. They will learn through guided instruction and feedback so they can eventually be confident and strong in their abilities.

Students will share the assignment and rubric with me before the session. They will also share the document with me through Google Docs. This will allow us to both interact with the writing assignment at the same time.

Learning Goals

Students will improve their understand and execution of writing assignments.
