1:1 8th Grade Math Tutoring & Homework Help

For this course, learners can bring their 8th grade math assignments from school for assistance with understanding concepts. I can re-teach and demonstrate concepts, as well as guide students through the given problems. If time allows, I can also provide some extra practice problems for students to complete with guidance. We can also use this format to prepare and study for upcoming tests.  This course is individualized so that students feel comfortable asking questions and we can go at the pace of the student.

I am also able to informally assess learners' math skills to determine what areas of math they need more assistance and practice with. We can then work to close those achievement gaps through our meetings as time allows.

Concepts can include adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing integers and rational numbers (positive and negative fractions and decimals) adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing exponents, powers of powers, scientific notation, square roots, cube roots, pre-algebra, geometry, pythagorean theorem, slope, linear equations, linear functions, and systems of equations at the 8th grade level.
