Class Experience

US Grade 4
Welcome! I have been teaching the math curriculum in 4th and 5th grade for five years! We will either preview or review the entire 4th grade math, common core curriculum, in 12 weeks! After 12 weeks have passed, you can determine whether you would like your child to continue the ongoing class to practice the skills for more mastery. This is a great course to get ahead if you are a rising 4th grader, to review before the 5th grade, or if you are a current 4th grader.

We will practice the following:

- Number and Operations in Base Ten: Place Value (2 Weeks)
- Operations and Algebraic Thinking: Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying, and Dividing Whole Numbers (3 Week)
- Fractions: Comparing/Equivalent and Decimal Notation (3 Weeks)
- Measurement & Data: Convert Measurement Units, Represent and Interpret Data, and Angle Measurement (2 Weeks)
- Geometry: Classify Shapes by Lines and Angles (2 Weeks)

Class is structured with the I Do, We Do, and You Do Model. Instruction will include models, numerical expressions, word problem practice, activities, and Google Slides. Students must have completed the 3rd grade math concepts in order to apply them to the skills performed in this course.

Learning Goals

I can apply all 4th grade mathematical skills in order to solve problems.
