In this 45 minute 1:1 private oboe lesson, students will continue learning about the oboe at their own pace. 45 minute lessons work best for students who have been playing for at least a year.
Class experience
The topics covered each week will be based on the needs of the individual student. Typically, at this level topics include continued discussions on lyrical expression and music theory, pieces for solo oboe, and orchestral excerpts. Depending on the student, they may also wish to complete ABRSM exams or MTAC Certificate of Merit. Homework Offered
Students should be prepared to practice between lessons. I work with each student to come up with an individual practice plan for the week based on what we are working on. Generally and ideally, students at this level should be practicing 30-60 minutes a day.4+ hours per week outside of class
