I will advise which topics are considered higher learning and which topics are considered the absolute basics and must know. I will clearly delineate which topics will be discussed each week. Parents and students can always discuss outcomes they would like to achieve with me prior to the lesson or during and we can try to accomodate which subtopics are most important or relevant. As you can see here in this multiday course the information builds off each class. As my students progress through the class they can begin to think like Doctors and clinicians. https://gyazo.com/c1573e74eb8a6a35d9859a0f85ab9fad
There is no homework or extra reading required outside of class. Every second week we work together on a short number of questions to quiz the students in a fun environment that involves points and friendly competitions. Using puzzles, multiple choice questions, patient and doctor scenarios and even looking at brain scans, we will put all our learned theory into practical use!
I will provide all the lecture materials and I may give a handout to facilitate learning or for extra (optional) reading.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Assessment will be carried out on an individual basis. I want each student to succeed to the best of their potential. I will do this by keeping tabs on them and being in communication between classes. The quizzes are designed to find strengths and weaknesses that apply to the course as a whole.
1 hour 40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
