I will provide a document with the material learned in class and with fun activities for your child to practice at home.Class Experience
This one-on-one class is created for students who would like personalized support. My classes are customized based on your child’s needs, interests, and learning styles. Please contact me to arrange a class time and day that works for you. This is a 10 class pack, designed for students who want to become regular students and get a lower class price. If your child needs help with anything related to Spanish or just wants to learn Spanish, I am here to help!. I offer tutoring with anything from speaking, writing, listening, grammar, reading (comprehension and learning to read skills) or a Spanish learning program. I designed my lessons using the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) and following the Instituto Cervantes Curricular Plan (PCIC). Following these two guidelines ensures consistent progression through class materials, yet classes can be as modified and structured as you wish. My curriculum exposes students to real-life experiences, and my students connect the learning material to their own world, facilitating language acquisition. I use a variety of dynamic, fun activities during class that will keep your child engaged and interested, and I carefully select props, realia, and puppets for each class. Lessons will vary based on age and skill, but will generally include vocabulary, sentence structures, letters with name and sound, short stories and songs, with oral communication practice and games to reinforce the learning material. Your child also will be exposed to the language, culture, and traditions of Spanish-speaking countries. For both regular classes and tutoring, we will discuss the needs of your child and her or his current level prior to our first session. This is very important specially for tutoring as I want to make the most of the class and help your child with the material he or she needs help with. For regular classes, your child will start in the unit that best matches her or his Spanish level. If you do not respond to my requests asking for class goals and objectives, our first class together will be an opportunity for your child, you, and me to get to know each other. This initial session will help me discover your child’s interests and needs and will help me determine your child’s level to better prepare his or her future classes. Please let me know the time you would like to meet (give me 2-3 options) and will be happy to accommodate your request.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Parent involvement depends on the child’s learning habits and age. Kids ages four to six may need some support in the first few classes while they get familiar with Zoom and class activities. Older kids usually do well on their own; however, some supervision helps when they have difficulty focusing or if they are easily distracted.
Supply List
For each class, please have a whiteboard with dry erase markers or a notebook with markers. Any specific materials needed for a class will be posted prior to the class.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

¡Hola! My name is Profesora Mary, and I am excited to help your child learn Spanish.
I truly love working with children with my puppet friends: Pancho, Beto, Moño, and Lucía. Your child will love learning Spanish — at their pace — while playing games and singing songs with me and my friends. Your child will also have fun through my use of many props, including puffy animals, toys and more.
My ultimate goal when I teach is to make sure that my students obtain the skills to communicate in Spanish. I do this while making sure that my students have fun while learning. My class activities help students connect the learning material to their own world, facilitating language acquisition.
Teaching and learning languages are two of my passions. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to combine them and make them my profession. There is no other job that I could enjoy more, and I love to share my enthusiasm and energy with students in my classes.
I have worked very hard to be a qualified teacher, and I have achieved this through online and in-person teaching experience and by obtaining a number of certificates related to language instruction and teaching young learners. I am a certified ELE (Español como Lengua Extranjera - Spanish as a Foreign Language) Teacher and a native Spanish speaker.
I am a mom and some of my hobbies include learning languages, making crafts and playing the flute.
I look forward to helping your child learn!
