Class Experience

Welcome to the 1-on-1 Guitar Lessons

Program Description:
-This program is offered to first time learners or learners returning to Guitar lessons.
- This program is offered throughout the year
-We teach: Acoustic Guitar or  Electric Guitar 
-We strongly believe that 'Music should be a passion and not a chore'. Therefore, we customize the lessons in order to bring 'FUN' to the lesson to each of our learners.

Program Requirement:
- Learners should have their own instrument

We offer 3 Programs- Please Choose the program you like:

Program 1: Learn to Play Your Favorite Songs:
-Learners are welcome to let us know their favorite songs they would like to learn in class. Instructors will teach the theory behind the music and help the learner to play the songs. 
-Please send us the song you would like to start with at least 24 hours before the start of the class. You can send us a YouTube link, the name of the song, sheet music, chord chart or lead sheets. 

Program 2: Learn Fundamentals of The Instrument
- Learners will learn Music Theory while learning a variety of genres of music.
- Learners will start with Beginner level material and move on to Intermediate level pieces when they are comfortable playing Beginner pieces and have learnt the Fundamentals in Music theory.
-If the learner has previous experience, the instructor will assess him/her and teach any gaps the learner has in the beginner level before moving into intermediate level pieces. 

Program 3: Prepare for an Exam (RCM , Trinity etc.)
- Learners can practice and perfect their pieces in order to prepare for a music exam.
-Please send us your song material at least 24 hours before the start of the class. 

Program Policies:
-Please book a time allocated by the teacher. If you would like to meet at a different day or time, please contact us.
-Learners will meet once a week for 30-minutes.
-It is an individual one-on-one lesson with the instructor.
-This is a subscription-based class, so you will be charged every week to save your seat for the following week.
-All Ongoing classes have a standard refund policy: "Cancel subscription at any point, no refund for past subscriptions. Payments can be refunded within 24 hours of purchase."

Learner’s Progress and Parent/ Guardian Communication: Parents and Guardians are welcome to contact the instructor to find out about their child’s progress. We are a team of school board certified and subject qualified (ECE, RCM, BSc., MSc, Ph.D.) educators teaching wide range of programs to students from 3 years to University. 

Meet Your Class Instructors:

Max Bornstein:
 has been playing music since 2006. He began studying drums at age 11, and later, began studying guitar at age 13. Max was a student at Rosedale Heights School of the Arts, where he was the recipient of the 2013 Music Award for excellence in Advanced Band, Repertoire, Composition, and Orchestra classes. He went on to Centennial College’s Music Industry Arts & Performance program, graduated in 2017, and received an Advanced Diploma. Max has toured both Canada and the United States, performed live and recorded with many musical acts, including Goodbye Honolulu, Missy Bauman, and Rebekah Hawker. Max has been teaching private lessons for the past several years with a number of reputable music schools, as well as independently out of his home.

Ara Arakelyan:
For Ara music has always been a way of life. He started taking music classes at the age of five and his first instrument was the piano. At age thirteen, he started learning saxophone and eventually graduated with Honours from the special Music School  Sayat-Nova for Gifted Children. From there, he entered the Komitas State Conservatory, where he received his B. A. and M.A. in Wind Instruments with specialization in Classical Saxophone.
