Class Experience

I taught cooking at a kid’s camp for 4 summers. I have a degree in Physical and Health Education. I am also an ACE personal trainer. I have 2 children ages 7 and 10. My 7-year-old is also special needs.

Week 1: Strawberry Frappuccino and Slurpee Ingredients: Strawberry Frappuccino 1 package of frozen strawberries 1 package of fresh strawberries Strawberry Syrup topping 1 lemon Whipped Cream from a can topping 1/2 cup of sugar Vanilla Syrup (I use the Starbucks brand)- found at Walmart.com Whole Milk Vanilla Ice Cream Ice Clear Cup for display Kool- Aid Slurpee 1 packet of Kool-Aid any flavor Club Soda Sugar Crushed Ice Clear Cup Week 2: Rainbow Smoothie and Dole Whip Ingredients: Rainbow Smoothie 9 frozen bananas 4 cup Greek yogurt Frozen raspberries 1.5 cups Frozen strawberries 1.5 cups Frozen peaches Small orange Frozen mango Frozen pineapple (for 3 layers) Spinach Blue food coloring Mixed berries frozen (can use left over from above) beets Water Clear Cups and Straws Dole Whip (copycat) 2 cups frozen pineapple chunks Vanilla ice cream Pineapple juice Clear Glass Week 3: Frozen Hot Chocolate and Skittles Slushie Ingredients: Frozen Hot Chocolate Ice Milk Hot Cocoa Mix Chocolate Syrup Vanilla Extract Whipped Cream Clear Glass Skittle Slushie 14oz of original skittles Sugar (4 cups) Water Lemon juice (1 2/3 cups) Clear Mason Jars Week 4: Frozen Punch and Orange-Creamsicle Smoothie Ingredients: Frozen Punch Blue Hawaiian Punch Lemon Lime Soda Vanilla Ice Cream White Fabric Paint Marker Clear Plastic Cups Orange-Creamsicle Smoothies 1 frozen banana Vanilla extract Orange Juice Vanilla Greek Yogurt 1 Orange Orange Zest Zester Clear Glass Straw Week 5: Watermelon Slushie and Black Tap Milkshake Ingredients: Watermelon Slushie Watermelon chunks (frozen for 24 hours before class) Maple syrup Mint or Basil Leaves Water Clear Glass Tall Straw Black Tap Jumbo sourdough pretzels Baking chocolate Mini M&M’s Chocolate Frosting Peanut butter (could do Sun butter) M&M’s regular Mini Peanut Butter Cups Whipped Cream Chocolate syrup Slated caramel Pretzel rods Milkshake clear glass Tall Straw Vanilla Ice Cream Vanilla Extract Sugar Milk * This list will also be attached so it is in better format but Outschool now wants all ingredients posted. A final ingredient list will be sent by the teacher for the following week.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Potential Hazards in this class.
This class takes place in the kitchen. There will be the use of a stove, oven, tools (knives/ blender/ food chopper), hot and cold temperatures. A parent always needs to supervise their child while in this class. Thank you!
