🤔 Q&A
Ms.Simpson's Teaching Style
My teaching style is very high energy. I am animated and can't hide my excitement when my students make any big or small progress in their learning😊. I truly believe in checking students understanding, so I always stop and ask questions.

🌎How do I approach teaching Thai to a kid who is growing up outside of Thailand?

🎇There are two main keys here.
*First is 100% belief in human ability to learn, especially kids at young age.
*Second is repetition.
*Maybe, third is for kids to have fun ;-)

My focus is for learners to be able to know as much vocabulary as they can through repeated listening and speaking. It is a lot easier and meaningful for learners to learn how to read and write (later) when they have a solid foundation of what exactly they are reading/writing.

🎆I love teaching. I am so lucky to have found Outschool! Thanks to this platform, I get to interact with and teach many wonderful and fascinating kids from all over the world every day!

📧If you have any questions, send me a message. I am excited to work with your child, and I mean that truly!

🎓 Ms. Simpson's Qualifications

Math:
I have a Bachelor of Science in Food Engineering from Thailand and a Master of Science in Agricultural Engineering from University of Georgia, USA. I worked as an a research engineer at Idaho National Laboratory, developing thermal processes and technologies for cleaner and cheaper bio-energy🌱

I have two years experience as a junior high math (full-time) teacher and a year as an interventionist (certified secondary level III: Utah State Board of Education).

🇹🇭 Thai:
I was born and raised in Thailand. I moved here when I was 24. My son, who is now almost 8 years old, is fluent in both English and Thai (listening and speaking). His reading and writing skills (both languages) are progressing really well. We live in Utah , USA. Learning the language that only a fraction of people in your surrounding use can be challenging. I have been teaching Thai to my son since he was born. We have these 3-4 other Thai kids that have been learning Thai with him since he was about 3 years old. With this group of kids, we always learn Thai through activities and playing, as I truly believe kids learn things best when they enjoy it.
