Hello! My name is Jen, and I am excited to be your child's guide on their educational journey. As a dedicated mom of two, I understand the importance of a nurturing and supportive learning environment. With over 20 years of teaching experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to my classes.

I hold a BA in Early Childhood Education, an MA in Instruction and Curriculum, and an endorsement in Special Education. My diverse educational background equips me to cater to children of all ages and abilities, ensuring every student receives the personalized attention they need to thrive.

For 16.5 years, I taught in the classroom, where I developed and honed my teaching skills. For the past 4 years, I have been teaching almost exclusively online, working with over 50 students during this time. Some were short-term students, while others have been with me since I started. Additionally, I am currently homeschooling a local student in my home.

I specialize in teaching reading and math skills, fostering a love for learning that will last a lifetime. I have extensive experience working with students who have special needs and twice-exceptional (2E) students, who are gifted and have disabilities. I am well-versed in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and advocating for my students to ensure they receive the support they need. This includes my son, who is an IEP student, with ADHD and anxiety but is also highly gifted.

As educators, we wear many hats, and I am also adept at addressing social-emotional issues that may arise in class. I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment where every student feels comfortable and excited to join their special class with me. Building strong, positive relationships with my students is a cornerstone of my teaching philosophy.

I firmly believe that every child can succeed when provided with the right tools and support. My goal is to create a positive and engaging learning experience that empowers your child to reach their full potential.

I look forward to working with your child and helping them achieve their academic goals!
