Mastery Evaluation
I have created a worksheet for each short and long vowel that will need to be printed for each class so your child can write the phonics words, color the pictures, and use the play-dough to form the words.Class Experience
US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - Kindergarten
Beginner - Advanced Level
In this ongoing class that meets 1x a week, your child will listen to a different story in each lesson (12 books in each series from The Berenstain Bears, Paw Patrol, Curious George, and Pete the Cat). We will sing a song using the phonics words from the story, trace short vowel or long vowel words, color pictures, and make letters with play-dough to form phonics words that go with the pictures on the worksheet. There will be a worksheet that will need to be printed for each class. The pdf file can be found in the classroom under the welcome comment each week. Your child will be encouraged to sing along and talk about the phonics words we are learning that day. I enjoy doing 1-on-1 classes because I like to interact with students to help them build confidence and feel special. I hope to see your child in this class soon! 1. We will greet each other and sing the hello song. 2. I will read a book. 3. We will sing a song using the vowel of the day words. 4. We will trace short or long vowel words on the worksheet and sound the words out phonetically. 5. We will use play-dough to make letters to form words. There will be pictures they can color to go with the words we are making with play-dough. 6. Your child will have the opportunity to show off their work by holding up their worksheets. 7. We will sing the goodbye song. If you do not see an available time on my schedule, please message me so we can find a time that works for both of us. Example of classes: 1st week: short "a" words 2nd week: short "e" words 3rd week: short "i" words 4th week: short "o" words 5th week: short "u" words 6th week: long "a" words 7th week: long "e" words 8th week: long "i" words 9th week: long "o" words 10th week: long "u" words Switch to different book series for the next 10 weeks.
