1 hour per week. Practicing is a way to internalize and test your skills with your own thoughts and approach. Supplemental and deliberate focus activities for the learner to engage with will be custom created and offered to support growth and development in identified private instruction topics. Beginner - Advanced Level
Use this 1-on-1 learning experience to schedule private lessons for all your music and interdisciplinary learning needs. You may be seeking private instruction: 1. as a complement to one of my group or flex classes. 2. for performance on a specific instrument. 3. as a tutor for specific music skills (theory, ear training, audition or practice performance). 4. as a tutor for interdisciplinary subjects (writing, business, program management). Choose your own schedule! CReate an a-la-carte schedule by signing up for a unique set of lessons, one, many, or make it on-going until you stop. All class sessions are a 55-minute block. This time is for your learners' personalized learning experience, which is written to map back to your goals. -------------- GETTING STARTED Upon registration, you will receive a welcome email with a learner profile attachment. Please complete the learner profile attachment as thoroughly as possible to share your thoughts with me; or, it can also be used as a guide to crafting your class inquiry. This will help me craft the best experience possible for you. ----------------- CLASS FORMAT All sessions will include development towards the learner profile which can be included in your personal portfolio or as part of the student experience outcomes. All classes will incorporate the exploration of the following questions with emphasis on some questions more than others depending on the focus of your class. 1. How do musicians generate creative ideas? 2. How do musicians make creative decisions? 3. How do musicians improve the quality of their creative work? 4. When is creative work ready to share? 5. How do individuals choose music to experience? All classes will incorporate the following National Standards for Music Education as a core to any experience: Standard: Creating (Cr:) 1. The creative ideas, concepts, and feelings that influence musicians' work emerge from a variety of sources. 2. Musicians' creative choices are influenced by their expertise, context, and expressive intent. 3. Musicians evaluate, and refine their work through openness to new ideas, persistence, and the application of appropriate criteria. 4. Musicians' presentation of creative work is the culmination of a process of creation and communication Standard: Performing (Pr:) 1. Select varied musical works to present based on interest, knowledge, technical skill, and context. Standard: Responding (Re:) 1. Individuals' selection of musical works is influenced by their interests, experiences, understandings, and purposes. 2. Learning Goals
Learners will grow in their independence as they partner with their learning leader to develop assessment criteria for self-evaluation of performance on a specific topic.
Learners and leaders-alike will co-designed and document goals, milestones, and activities as appropriate to the topic of study.
Learning goals will map back to the National Standards for Music Education as outline in the course description for all classes to include the standards of cross-cutting and interdisciplinary subjects.
Learners will exit with the minimum of a start to their music learning profile.

The teacher has the necessary skills to make adjustments for a variety of learning preferences, styles, and needs.
Supply List
Materials may be required for purchase such as: instrumental method book, sheet music for a song, or a literature reading book. The average additional cost is $25.

For the next decade, I have lived experience at a Fortune 500 corporation as an account manager and project manager serving the government sector, focusing on the emergency management industry. I hold various certificates notable in the field of business, such as the PMR from Project Management International and Toastmasters International. Additionally, I have been a leader and competitive speaker with Toastmasters International.
Volunteerism is important to me and I work with a non-profit organization to mentor, coach, and guide the growth of college students for development of crucial conversations and financial management.
