US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
The first tutoring session will focus on assessing your student’s strengths and weaknesses. After reviewing the results, I will create engaging sessions to enhance their reading skills. Key strategies will include phonics (sounding out letters), decoding (using phonics to read words), sight words (common words in everyday text), and reading fluency. Each session will feature fun activities like Flower Power (hangman), Name That Sound, and What Letter is Missing. Please provide play dough (note: it may contain wheat), pipe cleaners, and a whiteboard with markers for our sessions. Students will be interacting with the teacher the 55 minutes of class.
Learning Goals
Phonemic Awareness: Students will recognize and manipulate individual sounds in words, laying the groundwork for reading and spelling.Letter Recognition: Student will identify and name both uppercase and lowercase letters, along with their corresponding sounds, to build a strong foundation for decoding.
