Class Experience

This class is two types of students.
1. students that are currently in school taking Spanish and need one on one help with homework or to study for tests or quizzes.
If the student is taking Spanish in school it would be great to know what curriculum they are using and the chapters that they are currently on. It would also be great to know the areas they would like to improve.

2. students that are not taking Spanish in school but want to learn the language without being in a group setting. These students will be given a weekly vocab list and they will learn how to correctly pronounce the verbs.

In the course of this class we will discuss things like conjugating verbs. Definite and indefinite articles. Adjectives. They can receive one on one help with their Spanish homework.

Hello my name is Arelis.
I started teaching at a home school facility where I taught a variety of different classes including: Spanish, Spelling, 1st and 2nd grade Science, and a few other classes. A few years later I started working at a private school teaching Spanish to all grades (kindergarten through high school). I have been a teacher for over 12 years. Teaching Spanish has been such an amazing experience because I have had the privilege of sharing my culture with some of the most amazing students. My parents are from Puerto Rico so growing up I learned both Spanish and English. I love teaching Spanish to elementary age students because I use music and motion to help them learn new words and phrases with an amazing Spanish program. I do this with the older students, but some seem too sophisticated for my silly dances. I do however teach older students how conjugate verbs in Spanish using a variety of charts.
I have also earned my Certification in Personal Training with a specialization in Youth Exercise, Corrective Exercise and MMA Conditioning through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I have had the privilege of being a CrossFit Kids coach and I have taught Health and BPE to 9th grade. Working with kids and teens is very fulfilling. As a coach I love when my students run up to me excited to have mastered a new skill we have been working on. It brings me so much joy to know that I have helped them achieve their goals. Being a Personal Trainer I have realized the importance of staying active.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Ministry and had the amazing opportunity to work with a youth pastor in teaching a type of character development/ leadership class to at-risk teens in a local high school. I would like to offer character development and leadership classes to teens and preteens. It is important to me that I use my talents to help students realize their full potential and help them to become confident leaders in their community. I believe this next generation is filled with world changers and it is up to us to cultivate their talents with tenderness, care and compassion.
