1 hour per week. Homework for this class is determined by the specific needs of each student. Speech outlines are provided to help students organize their speech thoughts.

PRIVATE ONE-ON-ONE PUBLIC SPEAKING COACHING is tailored to the specific needs of each student.  Select a scheduled class times or contact the instructor to arrange a time BY REQUESTING for a time convenient for you, your teen, and your schedule.  Other times are available for speech coaching upon request.

Students practice speaking skills and gain confidence in an encouraging and safe environment with a seasoned professional speaker who loves empowering students with public speaking skills.  Students may choose to work on specific skills such as:
* create a speech outline.
* craft a quality speech.
* practice speech delivery skills such as eye contact, voice, and gestures.
* prepare to deliver a speech for a specific event.

Areas for speech tournament practice and coaching may include:
* Dramatic Interpretation                		* Impromptu Speaking
* Duo Interpretation                        		* Original Oratory
* Expository Speech                             	* Poetry & Prose
* Extemporaneous Speaking               	* Program Oral Interpretation
* Humorous Interpretation                          * Debate

Students may also practice and receive feedback to prepare a presentation for a specific event such as a science fair project or speech tournament.  They will receive positive feedback and encouragement to boost their speaking confidence.  

Less experienced students benefit from one-on-one coaching to practice conversation skills.  They have opportunities to learn skills through interactive games and activities that make speaking fun!

This ongoing course allows novice speakers to gain confidence as they practice new skills and receive encouragement. Experienced speakers will have opportunities to receive evaluative feedback to sharpen their public speaking skills.
Learning Goals
Participants will discover how to (1) organize and deliver a quality speech, (2) practice verbal and nonverbal public speaking skills, and (3) engage in conversation.
