1-on-1 Phonics Tutoring With Ms. Jess (Ongoing)

In this course, I will provide individual tutoring for students learning to read. Each session will vary based on the needs of the student, with an emphasis on phonemic awareness, blending, segmenting, decoding, fluency, spelling, syllabification, rhyming, sight words, and more. Students will have individual attention while practicing these foundational skills.

Sessions will be fun and interactive, with games and activities designed to engage young learners. I am an energetic teacher, and I love engaging with young learners in a positive and encouraging manner. As a former certified teacher from preschool to college, I am able to supplement instruction as well as create curriculum designed to help young learners develop these foundational phonics skills. Whether your learner is learning to read, or is a struggling reader, this class is for them. Please send any specific information about your learner so I can tailor our sessions to their needs. 

Students will progress through a series of phonics skills, beginning with phonemic awareness, building to 3-letter CVC words, adding blends and digraphs, and learning complex spellings for alternative vowel sounds (ai, "magic e", ow, etc). 

Tutoring sessions are 100% customizable. We will communicate via Outschool messaging before and between classes to ensure your child is getting the best experience. I will occasionally have sections available, but most often schedule through private messages. Please send me a message to check current availability.
