Hi! I am so happy that you are interested in my course! In this course, I will apply the principles of The Science of Teaching Reading and foundational literacy skills that students with dyslexia and related disabilities benefit from. The pace of each lesson will be dependent on the child's readiness and current needs. Our first lesson will be an initial assessment where I will gather data on the student's strengths and current needs. Starting with the second session, our lessons will have a very consistent routine allowing. *Use coupon code HUNTEJPCI925 to get this first class for free! Each lesson will have 6 components. 1. Introductory question or quote to spark interest and conversation 2. Phonological Awareness skills such as blending or segmenting sounds, rhyming, changing the sounds in words or isolating sounds in words 3. Lesson introducing new phonics skill 4. Reading words in isolation 5. Spelling 6. Read sentences or passage I will provide consistent feedback to parents. There will be no required homework, but I will provide suggestions on beneficial activities based on our in-class activities.
Learning Goals
Explicit and systematic phonics instruction will improve a child's reading accuracy and fluency. Understanding the phonetic patterns in word will improve a child's spelling.

Learning Needs
This class is a great option for students with dyslexia and dysgraphia because of the systematic and explicit instruction. Students with ADHD will benefit from the multi sensory learning approach that I use!
