Class Experience
At Math with Mac, our motto is 'work hard, play hard". We learn math by connecting to real-world experiences, letting the students set the pace, and having students track their progress (only testing their skills when they feel confident). What makes Math with Mac Different: With my experience teaching at both public and private schools, I have condensed the common core standards into 12 topics for algebra and pre-algebra so students can focus their tutoring sessions on the skills that...
1. Develops students' love of math 2. Masters topics covered in school and homeschool curricula 3. Strengthen students' real-world math skills
I have over a decade of experience working with youth through mentoring, working in special education, college-level tutoring, teaching English language learners, and teaching gifted and talented students! I have spent four years working as a volunteer mentor with 6th through 10th-grade students. While studying at University, I tutored fellow college students in statistics and psychology courses. I also have experience working in special education as a special education technician assisting in reading and math instruction. Through my year-long pre-service teacher education program, I taught 5th and 7th-grade students in mathematics. As a classroom teacher, I teach 6th-grade general education mathematics, 6th-grade mathematics for English Language Learners, and 7th-grade gifted and talented mathematics.
