1-on-1 Mandarin Chinese Tutoring

In this one-on-one class, we will meet once a week to learn to speak Mandarin and read and write simplified Chinese.

we will improve pronunciation skills, use high-frequency characters, terms and phrases, sentence structures, and language skills proficiently for daily communication, practice writing and reading Chinese characters, and read levelled texts.

Each class will be specific to the student's proficiency and needs. this is an example of typical topics covered in each lesson:

Week 1: Greetings Introducing oneself, Pinyin, tones, strokes, Numbers1-5
Week 2:  Introducing oneself, Numbers6-10 
Week 3: Numbers 11-20   my family 1
Week 4: Numbers 21-30,  my family 2
Week 5: Numbers 31-40,  months
Week 6: Dates 
Week 7: Weeks 
Week 8: Animals 
Week 9: Pets 
Week 10: Colors 
Week 11: Clothing
Week 12: Mother's Day
Week 13: Foods 1
Week 14: Foods 2
Week 15: Fruits
Week 16: Father's Day
Week 17: Summer break1
Week 18: Summer break2

class time breakdown:
10 min - review what we learned through small talk or fun activities using flashcards, pictures, Zoom whiteboard, etc.
25 min - learn new materials like Pinyin, characters, terms and phrases, short sentences, practice writing characters, etc.
10 min - practice what we learned in conversation or Picture Talk.
