Class Experience

This class can be appropriate for any levels, from beginners to more advanced. If this is learner's first attempt to macrame, we will learn the basic macramé knots required to create a beautiful small macramé project. For more advanced learners we can learn some knots that are a bit more difficult or create a larger project. For larger projects we can increase the duration of the class or spread the project over multiple classes.
We will do our best to finish the project during the class. However if for whatever reason student(s) are not able to complete the project during class, the video will be shared with the student to follow along and complete the project after the class.
Examples of materials that might be required for smaller projects: Key Chain project: - 2-3mm (1/8 inch) thick cord, 12 foot long (cut in 3 pieces, 4 ft long each) - Key chain ring or half-ring - Clipboard to hold the project while working on it (or tape to attach it to the table) - Scissors - measuring tape (if cords are not cut before class) Wall Hanging project: - 3mm (1/8 inch) thick cord, 42 ft long total (cut 10 pieces x 4 ft long each; And 1 piece x 2 feet long) - 1/4-1/2 inch thick dowel rod, ~6 inches long (a pencil, driftwood or dry tree branch of similar dimensions can be used instead) - tape (to attach the project to the table while working on it) - scissors - measuring tape (if cords are not cut before class) *Note: Cotton cord is traditionally used in macrame, and you can find all different colors and thicknesses on Amazon and other websites. However we can also use other medium and thinner rope (by folding it together to the desired thickness).
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
