In this one on one class, as a Guidance Counselor, I will work with your child and help them learn strategies that will help reduce their day to day stress. This class gives the tools to support a stress free lifestyle.

Class Experience

Hello! 
This is a one on one class that will meet weekly. 
During class we will discuss strategies and tools to help your child reduce their day to day stress. In the beginning of the class we will use ice breakers to help discover what tools your child is using and what tools they have yet to learn. Then we will move on to discuss hypothetical stressful situations and how to implement strategies at the correct times. I like to go over examples of stressful situations and show what is and is not successful in those examples. Doing this helps your child be more mindful in the future. I find it helpful to teach students the skill of externalization which is a way of thinking that helps them imagine stress as something that comes and goes. It's a way of thinking about stress as a part of you and not as all of you. This is a great tool that I was taught in my School Counselor Master's program for Guidance and Counseling. I was a School Counselor for 5+ years for Knd-12th Graders. This experience helped me to realize that I have the skills necessary to teach my students the skills necessary to help them with their day to day stressors.
