Assignments
1 hour per week. In addition to 1-on-1 mentoring, students will receive weekly assignments to reinforce what they've learned and to prepare them for the next lesson. These optional assignments, which will typically take no more than one hour, are designed to help them practice their skills and deepen their understanding of filmmaking.Class Experience
Beginner - Advanced Level
Making a great film requires more than just a great idea - it’s about understanding how to bring that idea to life from start to finish. In this 1-on-1 course, your child will work directly with me, an award-winning filmmaker, to explore every aspect of filmmaking: from developing an initial concept, writing a screenplay, directing actors, all the way to distribution strategies. Whether your child is just starting out or already has filmmaking experience, this personalized class is designed to meet them where they are and help them develop their skills. They’ll gain practical insights into how films are made, from both a technical and creative perspective, using real-world examples and lessons from the films and shows I’ve produced globally as well as others from classic movies to the latest films releasing today.

Parental Guidance
Some of the films we may discuss may contain themes like action or mild violence, but discussions will always be age-appropriate and sensitive to the group’s needs. The lessons and film examples used will also celebrate diverse perspectives and cultures.

I am an award-winning filmmaker with 17+ years of experience in directing, writing, and producing films across the globe. My career highlights include winning a Best Director award in New York in 2018, co-writing, directing, and producing a remake of Richard Linklater’s Tape, and creating the crime series Forensic Psychologist, which premiered in New York last Summer. I’ve produced projects in the UK, US, Hong Kong, Japan, and more, and my films have been covered by top trade publications such as Variety, Deadline, and The Hollywood Reporter. I’ve also headed the international arm of Hong Kong’s oldest broadcaster, Asia Television (ATV). My aim is to share these real-world experiences with aspiring filmmakers, helping them navigate the creative and logistical aspects of filmmaking.Reviews
