Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 4
Beginner - Advanced Level
Who is this class for?
- Learners who enjoy creating art and want to learn Mexico Spanish. This is not for the learners that want to create crafts.
- Learners wanting to practice Spanish in a calm and creative environment
- Learners that understand we have to also learn grammar and vocabulary
- Parents and guardians that want to customize their learners arts and language class.
- This class will be based largely on the goals and needs that learners have.

Any required experience or knowledge learners need?
 - Art experience is not required, but learners should understand that making perfect art is not the goal. The goal is to learn Spanish and have fun painting. This class is for learners that are completely new to Spanish, A1, and A2.

Use these guides below to help you:
A1 (Beginner): Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type.

A2 (Elementary): Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance.

My background: I speak Spanish and English. I love creating and teaching art classes to learners of all ages!

I speak Spanish from Mexico. Since English is my second language I understand the process of learning another language. I don't expect students to know everything and together we will practice Spanish!

How is your class structured?
I love all things creative and so I have experience working with watercolor, acrylic, gouache, and mixed media! Since I have a passion for all things creative learners will have the ability to request classes based on different topics. I do want your learner to have an understand of specific techniques so some class time will be dedicated to learning these. For example if they want to practice watercolor I will teach them various watercolor techniques that they can use to paint and then we will do a project or projects based on these.

The first meeting we have we will go over learners Spanish level and what their goals are. We will also look what art mediums they want to use. If learners want a certain number of classes only focused on one medium then that will start the structure of class, if they don't have a preference then I will choose what topics to cover.

Topics to cover will be based on what supplies learners have, their own interests, and artistic level. Instruction will be done in Spanish and English will be used to at times to provide explanation or context.

Example art topics for learners ages 3-7:
-Learning colors, shapes, ABC's in acrylic
-painting animals at the zoo
-Painting desert items

Example art topics for learners ages 8-10:
-Learning colors, shapes, ABC's using watercolor
-Understanding color and color mixing using acrylic paint

Example art topics for learners ages 11+
- Exploring artistic style
- Painting still life objects
- Portfolio building

Classes are conducted in a mix of Spanish and English, the mix will largely depend on your learners level of understanding Spanish. There will be times where we will focus more on Spanish rather than the art and others where we make more art rather than focusing on speaking perfect Spanish.

How will you teach?

I will do art demonstrations that learners can follow. They will be able to see through my overhead camera. I never want students to copy me directly so their own style will always be welcomed. There maybe a few topics such as learning about color mixing where copying exactly what I am doing is necessary however.

I believe that students should be active participants in their learning, that's the reason our first class will take into consideration their topics of interest, art mediums, and level of language. This is also a 1:1 class, which means I am able to provide a deeper level of attention to the learner and they can help personalize the class to their needs!

Throughout the class I will be speaking Spanish and ask learners questions in Spanish, giving them an opportunity for conversation.
Learning Goals
Increase learner's Spanish speaking confidence

Greetings, learners and families!

I'm teacher Nazaret (pronounced nah-sah-reht), and I'm thrilled to be a part of the Outschool community. I officially joined Outschool in 2022, in the late fall of 2022 I embarked on my journey as a dedicated Outschool educator. Although my journey with Outschool is relatively fresh, my experience in teaching extends far beyond this platform.

With a rich educational background, I hold a BA degree in Psychology and an MA in Education-Counseling. My teaching experience encompasses a diverse range of learners, spanning from the littlest learners all the way to adult learners. My expertise lies not only in imparting essential life skills like career exploration, time management, and personal responsibility, but also in nurturing creativity through captivating mediums like painting and art journaling.

I'm more than an educator; I'm an artist with a vibrant creative journey. My passion flows through mixed media, acrylic, watercolor, and oil painting. Nature is my muse, and I often find myself wandering through arboretums, capturing its beauty through my lens. This love for photography finds its way into my artwork, enriching the creative tapestry that defines my style.
You can explore my artistic creations not only in the form of original pieces but also across an array of products like prints and stickers.

My creative exploration isn't confined to my personal pursuits. I extend my artistic wisdom to the realm of education, offering adult watercolor courses to both individuals and corporate groups. This holistic approach to teaching enables me to instill artistic skills while fostering personal growth and expression.

I'm not only fluent in both English (US) and Spanish (Mexico), but I'm also bicultural, embracing the unique nuances of each language and culture.

My teaching philosophy resonates with my own journey as a learner. Each learner carries a treasure trove of knowledge, and together, we uncover the gems within. I believe in nurturing confidence, particularly among introverted learners. I understand the challenge of stepping into the spotlight, and I'm committed to creating a comfortable space where learners can grow at their own pace. Whether it's camera breaks, voice alternatives, or personalized instruction, I collaborate closely with parents and learners to ensure a supportive and effective learning environment.

What do I aspire for my learners to gain from my classes? Three core pillars:

1. **Knowledge**: Bridging gaps, strengthening understanding, and embracing new knowledge.
2. **Confidence**: Empowering learners to believe in their abilities and fostering growth through self-assurance.
3. **Support**: Fostering a sense of co-creation and collaboration, making each learner an essential part of the educational journey.
