This is an one-time class where learners are invited to master the Part 1 of their upper times tables with Times Tales. We use lively videos to 'trigger' a memory cue for quick and easy recall of the most difficult multiplication facts.

Homework
1-2 hours per week. After Part 1 Class, parents will be emailed free printable worksheets for learners to use between classes to help retain the information learned in each class.
Assessment
Assessment of the upper times tables will be made through the class by the Times Tales Instructor. This will be an informal assessment. Parents/Caregivers are always welcome to contact the instructor with any questions or concerns.

Beginner Level
Discover a NEW WAY of learning the multiplication tables.  In this class we are breaking the rules of learning multiplication - no more memorizing, skip counting, singing songs or tricks - with Times Tales we simply sit back and listen to some stories with 6 lively characters.  That's it!  This award-winning program utilizes a right-brain, visual learning mnemonic method that 'triggers' a memory cue making recall of the upper times tables effortless and fun.  Each class has a balance of lively, fun video clips, game-type questions, and opportunity for discussions with both teacher and fellow learners.  ~ As long as the learners are paying attention and having fun ~ they WILL have the listed times tables mastered by the end of the class!  

😊Part 1 Class is one hour in length and covers the following multiplication tables: 
3x6, 3x7, 3x8, 3x9, 4x6, 4x7, 4x8, and 4x9. 

😯Learners do NOT need to have mastered the lower times tables to be a part of this class - each student is welcome to come as they are!  

🫣It is recommended that learners who complete Part 1 Class enroll in Part 2 Class. 
The combination of these classes results in children not just mastering the upper times tables, but they also are given the opportunity bring out their own unique self-confidence as the learner they were designed to be.  Each child walks away being empowered, knowing that they have everything they need inside themselves to learn new things.

Learning Goals

Students will learn the upper times tables of 3x6, 3x7, 3x8, 3x9, 4x6, 4x7, 4x8, and 4x9 by utilizing a story-based, right-brain approach that 'triggers' a memory cue.  
Students will effortlessly and quickly recall the upper multiplication facts by use of the mnemonic method.

Parental Guidance
This class includes a screen share of lively, fun and age appropriate videos designed by Times Tales to teach the mnemonic method. These videos use a right-brain approach to provide students with a 'memory peg' which allows for quick and effortless recall of the upper multiplication facts. There is no account needed - these videos are provided with the class and are part of the purchase of the class.
Supply List
There will be opportunities for the learners to answer flashcards - depending on the size of the class, students will either answer verbally by taking turns or use the chat feature in the zoom classroom.  An understanding of this and the ability to do so is crucial for the class to run smoothly.  Thank you!

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Marcy Drexler is a mother of three daughters whom she homeschools.  Marcy has two degrees in Elementary Education along with training specifically on the mnemonic method by the creators of Times Tales.  Marcy has been in the teaching field for 20 years.  Over the years of teaching students and raising her own children, she has become an advocate for the different styles of which learners master concepts.  Marcy is patient and understanding, willing to do what it takes to make sure each of her students feel comfortable, supported and happy while they learn.
