Class Experience
US Grade 4 - 12
Beginner - Advanced Level
I am offering private sessions focused on songwriting and/or music production for students ranging from elementary to high school age! Utilizing my experience as a songwriter and producer, I aim to offer thoughtful, empathetic feedback that will help take your original music to the next level. Whether it be the lyric, melody, chord progression, arrangement, instrumentation, or mixing/mastering, we will work together to advance your goals as a writer and/or artist. I have experience working in a number of genres ranging from Country to Drill to Musical Theatre and always tailor both the songwriting and the production to the given genre. We'll work with tools like rhyme, song form, popular chord progressions/basic music theory, EQ, Compression, Reverb, MIDI, and anything else you might want to learn about the world of music production as we sculpt the song to your liking. Overall, I aim to make the experience of songwriting and producing more accessible and share my resources in a way that makes it as fun and exciting creatively as it is rigorous! :) FOR SCHEDULING - Please let me know if there is not a time listed that works for you and we can work something out!
Learning Goals
While goals will vary greatly by student, it is always the goal to become more proficient in songwriting and/or music production, elevating the song from where it was when a student walks in the room.

Sources
Whichever instrument you use to compose (piano, guitar, etc.)! Also likely necessary will be a way to jot down lyrics (I recommend pen and paper). For those working in music production, we can have a more specific conversation about DAWs and what may be the right fit for you if you want to make a purchase, but if you are a beginner, I recommend downloading and experimenting with GarageBand (free on Apple Devices).
