Do you want to start the piano but you feel afraid and are not sure where to begin? Join me for a 1-on-1 music lesson in piano playing where I will help your child learn, improve and master musical concepts like note reading, good technique and playing musically through using a variety of pieces. In our lesson we will focus on musical elements such as pitch, rhythm, dynamics and musical expression. It is important for piano students to understand these musical elements and how they are...
By the end of the session the student will have mastered a new musical concept linked with technique, musicality or the piece they are learning. This will give the student a clear goal for practising and improving their piano playing.
I am fully qualified teacher who has been a head of music and head of faculty for 25 years in middle and high schools. I studied music at university and have been playing and teaching the piano for a very long time!
Generally it would be expected that a student having a piano lesson would practice the pieces learned outside of class time to master the skills necessary.
Verbal feedback will be given during the lesson and guidance on what musical technique or skill to develop next.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
