Class Experience
In this one-day course students, ages 13-18, will spend 1.5 hours exploring, writing, and developing a fiction prompt of their choice (in the genre of their choice) into a complete work of flash fiction. The class environment will be relaxed, imaginative, and sprinkled with light-hearted humor; here creativity and compassion rule.
Students will be taught the basic elements of writing a fictitious narrative, including how to set up a point of view, how to build characters and...Students will learn how to quickly create a work of flash fiction.
Not only have I been teaching English Language Arts for over twenty years, but I have also been a multi-published author for over fifteen years. I am currently certified to teach secondary ELA (grades 6th-12th) with endorsements in Dramatic writing and Gifted Education, and training in Advanced Placement Language and Composition. Additionally, I have teaching experience in both the public and private school sectors.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
