In this ongoing class students will meet weekly to learn letters and letter sounds. Students will learn about a new letter each week. We will also sing a new song each week. We will talk about colors, days of the week, months of the year & weather during each class. Students will be able to tell us what the weather is like where they live. Students will be able to talk & interact with their peers to help build their social skills. We will end each class with a quick show & tell. I will provide hand outs for extra practice if the student wishes to work on learned skills during the week. This class will be full of energy and fun! I can't wait to see your child soon! Your child will just need a piece of paper or small whiteboard that he or she can write on.

My name is Kashley Carter. I am a certified teacher for grades K-8.
I have an Elementary Education degree, Maine teaching license grades K-8, and have been a First Grade classroom teacher for 11 years! Teaching them, encouraging them, and having fun together is my teaching mission.
My passion is teaching children how to read. I love to teach students phonics skills, letter recognition, letter sounds, sight words, reading fluency, and more.
