Description

Class Experience

Teacher will introduce students to the concept of addition by explaining the meaning of digits and symbols necessary for adding simple addition equations. Students will learn and gain an understanding of how concrete objects and manipulatives can be used to add numbers. Students will also learn how to use mental math to solve addition problems quickly. Each class will begin with a brief introduction and quick share about our feelings and/or thoughts toward adding (for example: do you like it?...

Students will learn how to add and gain or improve their fluency in solving basic addition facts.

Optional supplies: small objects or manipulatives for counting, paper to write on, small dry erase board with a marker

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Kahoot

30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

Teacher will share her screen so students can see the questions. Students will need to play on a computer or cell phone. Once the teacher has opened the game, students will receive a code to join. Students will need to enter their name and then they will be able to begin solving equations.
