In this sessions, we will develop a step-by-step process to solving math problems as well as problem solving strategies that can be used during exams. We will also take advantage, if allowed, of the use of the approved calculator to check our solutions and make corrections.
I have been a high school teacher and college professor, as well as a high school and college tutor. Because of this, I know what has been taught in the previous courses to the current class the student is taking, as well as know what will be needed in future classes. As a tutor, I have a better understanding of the misunderstandings the student might take from the classroom lesson and the frustration they sometimes feel when the teacher is not there to help. A positive one-on-one learning environment can make all the difference.
Student must bring their own questions. If getting ready for a test, bring the review and/or topics that will be covered on the test. If you are allowed to use a calculator, make sure you have it near you. Don't forget pencil and paper.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
