Class Experience

Students will develop their critical thinking skills which will improve the content of their essays. They will learn how to shore up holes in their logic and reasoning. They will learn how to hook their reader early, how to transition between paragraphs, and how to tackle the notoriously maddening conclusion paragraph.
Teaching English as a Foreign Language Certificate (TEFL)
B.A. in Literary Studies - Summa Cum Laude
M.F.A. in Film Studies
Worked as both a Teaching Assistant and an Instructor of Record at colleges where I graded essays.
Worked at the Boston University Writing Lab as a writing tutor for undergraduates.
Taught private ESL and Essay Coaching one on one remotely full time for the past 2.5 years. (Ages 6 - 18)
Students will be expected to complete a section of their essay between lessons, this enables us to use class time to edit and refine their ideas. The amount of homework depends on the situation. If I am assigning the essays, then only one or two paragraphs need to be drafted between meetings. This should not take the student longer than one hour of sustained concentration.
Assessment is parent driven. In most cases, student's are assessed not by me, but by their English teacher based on the essays we work on in class.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
