Homework
Learners will receive a color zone social story prior to the lesson for download. They may choose to read this story with a grown-up before or after class to connect their learning. The book is approximately 9-10 pages.

Class Experience

This course explores each emotion through colored feelings zones using children's  literature, promoting real-life connection for students. This course can be tailored for specific learning goals for your child and include interactive activities, games, and literacy activities connected to emotional regulation, and 1-1 learning!

Blue Zone, Sadness | Book: The River by Tom Percival
Yellow Zone, Anxiety & Worry | Book: Ruby Finds a Worry by Tom Percival
Green Zone, Calm & Joy | Book: I am Peace: A Book of Mindfulness by Susan Verde

Learning Goals
By the end of this course, young learners will be able to:

-Identify Emotions: Recognize and label various emotions, including anger, sadness, anxiety, and calm, in themselves and others.
-Associate with Colored Zones: Understand the concept of colored emotion zones and match specific colors with corresponding feelings.
-Express Emotions: Develop the ability to express emotions verbally and non-verbally, using appropriate language and gestures.
-Relate Through Literature: Connect with characters in literature who experience different emotions, fostering empathy and relatability.
-Develop Emotional Vocabulary: Build a rich emotional vocabulary to describe various feelings and communicate emotional states confidently.
-Promote Empathy: Develop an understanding of how others might feel in different situations, fostering a sense of empathy and kindness.
