Class experience

This class is taught in English.
Learners will learn clay techniques and terms as they are working with their hands and tools to create 3-dimensional works of art.

We will compare and contrast form and function as they decide if they will be creating a decorative sculpture or a functional vessel.

Learners will make decisions about surface decoration while they build and after it has gone through the drying phase.
I have been teaching this and similar projects for 20+ years. I currently teach in-person pottery classes and use clay several times a week. Air-dry clay acts in a very similar manner.
Homework Offered
Since this is a flexible schedule course there will be no live meetings. Each learner should spend between 1-2 hours of time a week creating their sculptural pieces in the first four weeks and painting them during the last week.
1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Guidance will be provided every step of each project as learners share and communicate through the Outschool classroom.
