As we all struggle to comprehend the devastation taking place in Ukraine, we are heartbroken for the families directly impacted. We want to make it clear that we do not support the invasion by Russia on Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. At Outschool, we stand for learners all across the world and understand the urgency of the situation currently unfolding. We want to help.
Beginning today, Outschool will offer our community a way to add a donation upon check out to the International Rescue Committee. The funds will support humanitarian relief for Ukrainian refugees. For every dollar donated, our non-profit arm Outschool.org will donate a dollar to organizations providing education to Ukrainian refugee children up to $100,000.
Outschool.org’s work focuses on underserved communities, including those facing an acute crisis like refugees or those displaced due to natural disasters. Our Outschool.org team partners with organizations working to address systemic inequity and advance equity in education to create more access and opportunity for all young people.
Our team selected the International Rescue Committee because they have a strong track record of responding to the world’s worst humanitarian crises, including the conflict in Ukraine and the ongoing crisis in Afghanistan. They help restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster.
Outschool will continue to offer our community resources to help learners. As always, we strive to provide supportive classes for children during unsettling times. If you prefer to donate directly to the International Rescue Committee you can go to www.rescue.org. The IRC is a 501(c)(3) organization.
If you are an Outschool educator, we will be posting additional information in our private social channels with ways you can donate to charities that support the Ukrainian people.
Our hearts go out to all those affected by this senseless attack on Ukraine and its citizens.
May peace come soon.
