This class is intended for English language learners around the world and gives students an opportunity to learn English in a comfortable environment one on one with me. There is no previous knowledge required. In the first class, I will assess student’s English level and see which lessons may be best fitting. Some of the topics included in these lessons will be: • Colors • Fruit • Numbers • Alphabet • Parts of the body • Shapes • Farm animals • Toys • Weather • Our world • Clothes • Vegetables • Feelings and emotions • Directions • Family • Telling time Students will also explore readers/books with most classes and practice reading aloud. Beyond listening and speaking with me, I will ask many questions throughout the lesson to encourage engagement. I also will most often send a worksheet home to do sometime during the week for extra practice. Lessons will usually be conducted using slides but will include some online games, video clips, and songs as well. I will encourage students to speak as much as they can during our lessons and be as engaged as possible using their English skills. All students are welcome to come and share what they know so that I can gage learning as the class goes on. Classes will meet once weekly, and students may drop the class at any time if need be. I hope to see you in the classroom!

Hello! My name is teacher Jacqueline and it is very nice to meet you!
I have been a teacher for the past five years, teaching and caring for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years of age. For the most part, I have been a preschool teacher working with three and four year old students and have loved every minute of it. I currently work full-time as a Kindergarten Teacher.
I love teaching through play-based learning and digging deep into science and reading projects. I believe that students should approach learning through interest and incorporate play as much as possible to ensure thorough learning. Learning should feel more like play, not work!
I plan on teaching classes geared toward fun science topics that aren't typically studied in depth in school such as dinosaurs, turbulent weather, bugs/insects, gardening, and animals. I also am a TESOL certified teacher and love teaching emergent bilinguals. Teaching students a second language is my passion and I would love to see your student in the classroom to learn English!
I also plan on teaching basic pyrography and woodworking classes as these have become some of my recent beloved hobbies the past couple of years.
In my free time, I enjoy doing crafts, soap-making, running, hiking, raising backyard chickens, and just being outside!
